In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Renting a vehicle with us requires:
- To rent a vehicle from Car Hire in Congleton, you must be at least 21 years old, although age restrictions may vary based on the vehicle type, and drivers under 25 may incur extra fees. A valid full driving license for the appropriate vehicle category is required, along with identification and proof of your current address. You will also need to provide valid payment details and a security deposit, as well as fulfill any additional requirements listed in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Process
- Reservations can be made via our website, by phone, or directly at our Congleton office. A deposit may be necessary to confirm your booking, with full payment and a security deposit typically required upon vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include VAT where applicable. We accept major credit and debit cards, processed securely through trusted payment providers.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is important to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed by both parties. The vehicle should be returned in the same condition it was received, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and charged accordingly. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as at collection; refueling fees will be applicable if the fuel level is lower. Insurance and Liability Terms

Additional insurance options may be offered to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You will be accountable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount, except where additional insurance applies. Any damage resulting from negligence, misuse, or violation of these Terms will remain your responsibility, irrespective of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice provided. For detailed information, please consult your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Your Vehicle
- The vehicle must not be used for any illegal activities, including racing, rallying, or off-roading. Transporting hazardous materials is prohibited, as is sub-letting the vehicle or allowing unauthorized drivers. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is strictly forbidden. Users must adhere to the vehicle's intended purpose and not exceed passenger or weight limits. Additionally, operating the vehicle outside of agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental cancellation and fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowable under English and Welsh law, Car Hire Congleton is not responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business, resulting from your use of our services. Our maximum liability for any claims will not exceed the total amount paid for your rental in the previous 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.

These Terms are regulated by the laws of England and Wales. Any disputes will fall under the jurisdiction of the relevant courts in this region.
